A shocking case has emerged in Middle Tennessee, where a 23-year-old man stands accused of fathering a child with a 15-year-old girl, leading to serious charges by authorities. Selvin Adelso PopMac was apprehended on April 24 and charged with "Statutory Rape" and the "Rape of a Child," according to details from the Metro Court Docket. He is slated to appear in court on Friday, April 26, 2024.

The disturbing nature of PopMac's alleged relationship choices came to light alongside medical concerns for the teenager, who required attention at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital this week. It was during this visit that authorities were alerted to the situation. Detectives, upon further investigation, uncovered unsettling details indicating that PopMac and the 15-year-old had been together for a significant period.

Shockingly, the revelation that the couple shares a child, soon to turn 2-years-old, suggests that the suspect's alleged girlfriend was around 12 at the time of conception. PopMac would have been between 20 and 21-years-old at that time, amplifying the gravity of the situation.

Initial reports suggest that the teenager had misrepresented her age to PopMac, initially claiming to be 18-years-old. Despite later learning her true age, the relationship persisted, with both individuals reportedly living together, as indicated by affidavits read by WGNS.

Upon learning these distressing details, Metro Police swiftly took action, placing PopMac under arrest. As of Thursday morning, he remains incarcerated at the Davidson County Downtown Detention Center in Nashville. Legal proceedings are underway, with his first court appearance scheduled for this Friday (04/26/24). PopMac is currently represented by Nashville Public Defender Cody Fisher during his upcoming court appearance. His bond has been set at $75,000.
