Percy Priest Lake - First responders dedicated several hours Saturday night (4/27/2024) searching Percy Priest Lake near Goose Island for a hero who saved the life of a young child.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources report that around 5:15PM Saturday evening a child jumped into the water and was having problems. An adult jumped in to rescue the child who had gone under the water. The adult saved the child, but went under water in the process.

Rescue crews searced the waters of Percy Priest Lake near the island, but the adult has not been located.

The search was stopped around 8:30PM Saturday night, with TWRA saying the search will continue at 9:00 o'clock Sunday morning (4/28/2024).
