The incident unfolded around 3:10 p.m. on Tuesday when the Dollar General was robbed at gunpoint, according to the MPD. Public Information Officer Larry Flowers told WGNS the responding officers quickly spotted the suspects' getaway vehicle, identified as a white older model Chevy Impala, and initiated a felony stop at the intersection of Northfield Blvd. and Memorial Blvd. However, the driver evaded capture and sped away.

A brief pursuit ensued, during which the fleeing vehicle was involved in a minor collision with another vehicle on Saddlebrook Dr. Despite the setback, the suspects continued to flee until reaching a dead end on Winthrone Dr., where the vehicle finally came to a halt.

With nowhere left to run, authorities said that both suspects exited the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot. Murfreesboro police officers, demonstrating remarkable agility and determination, swiftly apprehended one suspect nearby, while the other was captured on Freedom Court.

The arrested individuals now face charges of armed robbery and evading arrest. They have been booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center pending further investigation into the incident.
