MURFREESBORO, Tenn. –  Murfreesboro Police have nabbed two individuals following an alleged armed robbery that occurred at a small home décor and grocery store. The situation came to a close on Tuesday after brief chase and foot pursuit. The armed robbery was reported to have occurred at the Dollar General on Halls Hill Pike between North Rutherford Boulevard and Twin Oak Drive.

61-Year-old Johnny Cross was captured on Freedom Court after attempting to flee from law enforcement, according to the MPD. Cross faces an array of charges, including aggravated robbery, felony evading, misdemeanor evading, three counts of felony reckless endangerment, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Authorities say that 33-Year-old Tedarreis Thompson was arrested on Winthorne Court after a similar attempt to escape police. Thompson is charged with aggravated robbery, assault, interfering with an emergency 911 call, and vandalism. Additionally, he had an outstanding warrant for domestic assault, which he was also served when taken into custody.

Again, the incident unfolded on Tuesday, April 30, around 3 in the afternoon. Workers in the store say they were robbed at gunpoint.

Utilizing Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) technology, crime data analysts aided patrol officers in tracking the suspects' getaway vehicle, an older Chevy Impala that was white in color. Following a felony stop at the intersection of Northfield Blvd. and Memorial Blvd., the driver accelerated, eventually colliding with another vehicle on Saddlebrook Drive. The pursuit was short-lived and concluded shortly after they attempted to getaway by driving down Winthorne Drive, which is a dead end street. After ending their drive, police say both suspects fled on foot.

Public Information Officer Larry Flowers confirmed, “The investigation into the robbery is ongoing.”

As of Wednesday afternoon, both Cross and Tedarreis remain behind bars at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center in Murfreesboro. Thompson's bond stands at $82,000, while Cross's bond is set at $112,000. Court hearings for Thompson are scheduled for June 11 and June 18 in Rutherford County General Sessions Court, with Cross appearing on June 18.
