Nashville, TN – Whether you were traveling toward Music City Saturday (5/4/2024) afternoon or trying to get on I-24 and go back to Rutherford County, a mid-afternoon big-rig fire brought traffic to a standstill.

Officials at T-DOT said the blaze broke-out 2:36PM eastbound at mile marker 55.4 (near Harding Road).

Motorists were creatively making new routes back to Rutherford County.

One attempted to use I-40, just about a mile from the I-24/40 junction, and a multi-vehicle pile-up occurreed eastbound at mile marker 214.4. That happened at 4:49PM on Saturday.
