Murfreesboro, TN - Perfect weather enveloped Friday Night Live's opener for 2024, as the historic business district reverbrated with the sounds of Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Sinatra and the Andrew Sisters.

A gentle breeze with temps around 80 set the mood for a night of big band favorites featuring Music City Swing.

This is a creation of Main Street Murfreesboro, who for the past 19-years have been thinking of ways to get more residents to patronize the boutique style shops and eateries on the town square.

Main Street's Executive Director Sarah Callender said, “For 19 years Main Street has used the power of music to bring our community together and create a sense of place for everyone.”

It's a busy night for the Main Street staff as they have to make certain the giant stage and sound system are taken down and the space around the courthouse is clean for vendors participating in Saturday (6/8/2024) marketplace from 8:00AM to noon around the courthouse. In fact, vendors will start setting up early in order to be ready for another SRO crowd on the square.

Callender reminded the public about Main Street's extremely popular TASTE OF RUTHERFORD on July 13, 2024 at Oaklands Mansion, 900 N. Maney Avenue. Tickets give attendees access to over 20 Murfreesboro restaurants for tastings, craft beer from Mid-State Brew Crew, and live musical entertainment throughout the night. For more information, contact Main Street Murfreesboro at 615-895-1887.

By the way, the next Friday Night Live is set for 6:30-9:30PM on July 5, 2024 with The O'Donnells.

A special thank you to WILSON BANK & TRUST for being the supporting sponsor for the past several years.
