Murfreesboro, TN - On Wednesday (8/14/2024) Metro Police Detectives were in Murfreesboro where local officers arrested Gabriel Melo-Beltran for the January, 2024 murder of William Rafael Silva that reportedly occurred during a South Nashville robbery.

Co-defendant Htet Sar was arrested earlier in Nashville.

Metro Nashville Police reports indicate that two young men driving a black SUV dropped off Silva at Southern Hills Medical Center early Tuesday morning, Jan. 2, 2024. They then left. Police say Silva was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and died a short time later.

Htet Sar and Gabriel Melo-Beltran were both age 17 when the murder occurred and are both facing charges in Juvenile Court.

Again, the arrest of Gabriel Melo-Beltran took place here in Murfreesboro.  It was done by Murfreesboro Police who were acting under warrants from Metro Nashville detectives.
