Smyrna, TN –  The 14th annual Smile Generation Serve Day begins at 1:00 o’clock Saturday afternoon (8/17/2024) at Smyrna Modern Dentistry, 160 Movie Row. They are partnering with S2L Recovery, a faith-based drug and alcohol rehab center, to offer critical dental treatments to patients recovering from addiction.

Smyrna Modern Dentistry will be donating over $160,000 in comprehensive dental care to patients. This event significantly expands on last year's efforts, where over $75,000 worth of dental services were provided.

The current shortage of working dentists per capita in Tennessee makes access to oral health care particularly challenging for low-income residents and those living in rural areas. This event not only addresses a critical gap in healthcare, but also highlights the transformative power of community collaboration.

In addition, Smile Generation Serve Day is an annual day of service when dental offices across the nation offer a day of free dentistry for community members who otherwise would not be able to access care. Since 2011, Smile Generation Serve Day has provided more than $57.4 million in donated care including crowns, fillings, root canals, and hygiene treatment to more than 27,000 patients.
