Norman Brown, President of Murfreesboro-based Roscoe Brown, Inc., a 73-year-old HVAC company with operations throughout middle Tennessee, announced that Brian Byrd is the company’s new Chief Financial Officer.

"Bringing Brian Byrd in as our Chief Financial Officer is the next great step forward for Roscoe Brown," said Brown.  "We've been in business for more than 70 years, and we continue to grow and evolve as we pursue our central mission, which is offering the finest quality, value and service in home comfort products and services to our many customers in middle Tennessee.”  

Byrd has extensive financial, accounting and managerial experience with several key middle Tennessee employers, including a 13-year career with Gaylord Entertainment Company.  At Gaylord, Byrd served in multiple financial leadership roles during his tenure, including ResortQuest Controller, Assistant Treasurer and Executive Director of Financial Shared Services.  Byrd holds a bachelor’s in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and a master’s in Business Administration, both from Middle Tennessee State University.  Byrd is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Cash Manager.

“In this new position for the company, I will be overseeing all financial data gathering, analysis and reporting for Roscoe Brown’s multiple lines of business, including HVAC, plumbing and insulation for both commercial and residential facilities.  And further, we will be using that information to plan and grow the business throughout middle Tennessee, continuing that same tradition of superior service, quality and value for which Roscoe Brown is known.”

“Brian brings to us a depth of professional expertise and experience in finance and operations, and we are very excited and pleased that he has joined our team,” Brown added.  “I believe he will make many significant contributions to our business plan as we continue to grow our business and our services."

Byrd also served in the Tennessee Army National Guard from 1986 to 1998, and was based in Smyrna as a helicopter pilot.  He was on active duty from 1992 to 1993 and achieved the rank of Captain. 

Byrd and his wife, Ann-Marie, are natives of Lebanon, TN, and have lived in Murfreesboro for the past 22 years.  They have two children:  Thomas, age 20, who is in college at Motlow State Community College in Smyrna, and Kathryn, age 16, who is a sophomore at Middle Tennessee Christian School in Murfreesboro.  The Byrd family are members of Walter Hill Church of Christ, where Brian serves as an elder.
