Jerry Marshall Brown, age 85, passed away on October 6, 2024. Born in Fayetteville, he spent most of his life in Murfreesboro where he met the love of his life at MTSC.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, William Lloyd Brown and Eva Lee Hines Brown; and sisters, LaVadia Frank and Donna Jean Livingston. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Frances Carleen Brown; sons, Carl Brown of Nashville, Rodney Brown of Nashville; daughter, Mary Lee Brown McDonald of Murfreesboro; and granddaughter, Jessica Brooke McDonald who he was always so proud of and loved.
Jerry was retired from State Farm Insurance after 42 years known for helping others and random acts of kindness. Jerry was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church, past president of the Murfreesboro Jaycees, a Boy Scout Leader and coach for MSC soccer and Kiwanis softball teams. His passion was his farm where he raised cattle and a menagerie of other farm animals. He and Carleen hosted many hayrides and wienie roasts through the years at the farm.
We find comfort in knowing that Dad’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Trinity United Methodist, 2303 Jones Blvd, Murfreesboro, TN 37129. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Trinity United Methodist with Rev. John Casey officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
