WGNS is following up on a story we first learned about this past weekend involving a woman who was said to be falling asleep at the counter of McDonalds. The report WGNS ran across shows that two small children had to poke the female in order to awake her while in the fast food restaurant that is located inside the Walmart store on South Rutherford Boulevard. Minutes after walking out of the store, the female allegedly got into her vehicle to drive away and ended up driving over a curb and falling asleep until police arrived.
The actual police report written by a Murfreesboro officer stated, “I made contact with the female who was asleep in the vehicle with her head on the steering wheel and the vehicle was running.” The officer went on to write,” I also noticed two small children under 16-years of age that were not in child restraints.” Upon talking to the female identified as 29-year old Angel Lovvorn, police said that she spoke with a “slow raspy speech” and had “droopy eyelids” and “continuously scratched her skin.” Lovvorn later failed a field sobriety test, according to the arrest report filed by the MPD.
After the female was transported to the local jail, her conditioned apparently worsened because she reportedly took four Xanax bars prior to police arriving at the Walmart parking lot where Lovvorn was first located. Officers later discovered Lovvorn had two prior DUI arrests and was therefore charged with her 3rd DUI. She also faces a driving on a revoked charge, felony reckless endangerment and criminal impersonation charges. The suspect will appear in court his August.
As far as the children go, they were released to their mother. By the way, Lovvorn was arrested on May 11th and as of May 14th, has not been released.
