With a nod to the sensational show “Downton Abbey”, supporters of the Discovery Center at Murfree Spring will host their annual Secret Garden Party on Friday, June 7th, at 7:00 at the home of Elizabeth and Brad Allen, located at 2261 Oakleigh Drive in Murfreesboro.
The Discovery Center’s Secret Garden Party has long been a favorite social and philanthropic event, and this year’s party committee promises to host a summer soiree to remember. According to Secret Garden Party co-chairs Jill Converse and Becca George, guests will be treated to fabulous food and beverages in a beautiful garden setting. The affair will be catered by Five Senses Restaurant, and will spotlight specialty cocktails inspired by characters featured in the critically-acclaimed British period drama “Downton Abbey”. In keeping with summer garden party style, ladies’ hats are encouraged.
In addition, partygoers will have the opportunity to bid upon silent and live auction items. Proceeds from the Secret Garden Party will support educational programs and exciting hands-on exhibits at The Discovery Center, where more than 120,000 visitors come each year.
The party precedes the Secret Garden Tour set for the following day, June 8th; for only $10 per adult and $5 per child, ticket holders will tour featured gardens in Murfreesboro.
Secret Garden Party tickets are $75 each, and may be purchased at the Discovery Center, or at http://explorethedc.org. Please contact Jennifer Neal at (615) 890-2300 for more information or to reserve tickets.
