Smyrna Fire Chief Culbertson Retires 2PM Friday...Public Invited

Smyrna, TN - William Culbertson will retire at 2:00 o’clock this coming Friday afternoon as the chief for 30-years with the Smyrna Fire Department. The public is encouraged to attend the event at the Smyrna Event Center, 100 Sam Ridley Parkway, East.

Chief Culbertson is a third-generation firefighter. He became the department's first full-time employee in 1989 and was promoted to chief in 1994.

The program portion of the ceremony to honor Chief Culbertson will begin at 3:15 PM.

Mayor Mary Esther Reed said, “Bill has been a pivotal part of this community for many years. I've known Bill my entire life and have worked with him for the past twenty-two years. This town has been blessed to have such a caring and dedicated individual as our Fire Chief."

Again, a special recognition of retiring Smyrna Fire Chief William Culbertson after 30-years of service, will be this coming Friday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00PM at the Smyrna Town Center.

Dress is casual and light Hors D’oeuvres will be served.
