Murfreesboro, TN - Weatherwise, the 2025 Plunge into Fitness at Boro Beach was a pleasant surprise. Instead of ice in the water, snow on the deck, and subfreezing temperatures, Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department recorded a 42-degree water temperature on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, for the 11:00 AM plunge. Skies were partly cloudy, adding to the event's charm.

This year marked the first time the event was held in February, as it usually takes place in early January. Also, instead of a 10:00 AM plunge, 2025 saw participants jumping into the water at 11:00 AM.

The annual Plunge into Fitness tradition began in 2002 at SportsCom on DeJarnette at Memorial Blvd. It's become a beloved way to kick off the New Year in Murfreesboro, creating a loyal community of participants.
