Smyrna, TN - Rutherford County Fire Rescue divers successfully recovered a silver Hyundai Sonata from Percy Priest Lake on Monday morning (2/3/2025). The vehicle was found about 200 feet from the shoreline in approximately 30 feet of water. Sheriff’s Sgt. Nick Coble reported that the car appeared to have been submerged for some time.
The car, which has a lien on it but was not reported stolen, was lifted using an airbag and then pulled from the water by a wrecker driver. The Tennessee license tag expired in November 2024, but the county of registration has not been released.
