SMYRNA, Tenn. — The Smyrna Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two individuals suspected of carrying out a quick change scam at the Smyrna Walmart on Monday, January 27, 2025.

According to authorities, the two men, both dressed in black clothing with black jackets, managed to deceive a cashier while paying for merchandise. Using quick change tactics, the suspects confused the employee during the transaction, ultimately walking out of the store with over $3,200 worth of high-end earbuds—while paying less than $1,000 for the audio devices.

The quick change scam typically involves suspects manipulating cash transactions, often by rapidly switching bills, confusing the cashier, and exploiting moments of distraction to shortchange the business.

Authorities encourage anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the store that day or who recognizes the description of the suspects to come forward. Your information could be vital to the investigation.
