Murfreesboro, TN – The Heart of Tennessee (HOT) Red Cross Chapter will honor Dr. Gloria Bonner at the 12th Annual Heroes Luncheon in Middle Tennessee State University’s STUDENT UNION BUILDING ballroom. The celebration is from 11:30AM to 1:00PM on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Dr. Bonner retired from MTSU in 2017. Prior to her retirement, she spent 44 years in education with 32 of those years in academic and administrative roles at the university. She has dedicated a huge percentage of her life to not only education, but also to volunteering with a long list of local nonprofits that better our community.
Celebrate the legacy of Dr. Gloria Bonner, the humanitarianism of Red Cross volunteers and the philanthropy of the Heart of Tennessee business community.
In addition to Dr. Bonner, the local Red Cross Chapter will celebrate the outstanding service provided by this year’s Red Cross Volunteer Spotlight, Ray Wiley.
This annual event acts as our local Red Cross Chapter's only fundraiser and an incredible opportunity to recognize humanitarians in our community. Previous heroes recognized at this event include, Bob Mifflin, Andy Womack, Gordon Ferguson, Liz Rhea, John Hood, Dr. Sidney McPhee, Russ and Sherry Galloway, Joey Peay, Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Holmes, Bart Walker, Mark Pirtle and Ernest Burgess.
