RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - The annual Storybook Breakfast provided children with the opportunity to meet their favorite storybook characters, create crafts, and enjoy breakfast with their families, all while supporting the local Imagination Library program.

Now in its sixth year, the event attracted over 500 attendees and successfully raised more than $41,000 for the Imagination Library, which currently serves more than 17,000 children in Rutherford and Cannon counties each month. Established by Dolly Parton, the program sends age-appropriate books for free to children across the region each month to promote early literacy. The United Way of South Central Tennessee and the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation are the sustaining partners that help purchase the books and cover postage costs, ensuring that the program remains free for enrolled families.

Held on March 1st at Overall Creek Elementary, this year’s Storybook Breakfast featured a number of beloved characters, including Bluey, Maisy, the Berenstain Bears siblings, Pete the Cat, Ladybug Girl, Peter Rabbit, and Curious George. Attendees were treated to crafts, storytime, puppet shows, and a delicious breakfast, offering children a chance to engage creatively while fostering community spirit for a great cause.

The event would not have been possible without the support of its presenting sponsor, MMC Pediatrics, as well as other supporting sponsors including ambetter, Courtney Coco Jones, Middle Tennessee Electric, Murfee, Goodman, and Rosatto PLLC, NFL Alumni, Titans One Community, Smyrna Bowling Center, and many more. The collaborative effort underscores the community's commitment to supporting literacy initiatives and providing resources for young readers.
