Murfreesboro, TN - High school basketball fever takes over the ‘Boro as the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) state basketball tournaments return to the historic Murphy Center at Middle Tennessee State University. The excitement kicks off this coming Wednesday, March 12, with the girls' tournament running through Friday, March 15. The boys' tournament will follow the next week, from March 19–22, 2025.

As players, fans, and families converge on the campus, MTSU Parking and Transportation Services is reminding the campus community and visitors to prepare for increased traffic and parking changes, especially with students and faculty returning from spring break on March 10.

Here’s what you need to know about parking and campus access during the tournaments:

  • Greenland Drive and Middle Tennessee/Woodfin Lots: These lots will be reserved for TSSAA ticket holders, with parking charges in place. Students and faculty who typically use these lots are encouraged to seek alternatives.

  • Entrances and Traffic Flow: The East Main Street and Rutherford Boulevard entrances will offer the most convenient access. The arm gate near Cope Administration will remain open during the tournaments for Old Main Circle access.

  • Team Bus Routes: Champion Way and Faulkinberry Drive will serve as designated routes for high school team buses. Some roads, including Faulkinberry Drive and Normal Way, will be closed to general campus traffic.

  • Shuttle Services: The Raider Xpress Shuttle will operate on its regular schedule, except the Green Route will bypass the Greenland Drive lot during the tournaments.

  • Additional Notes: Free parking in other campus lots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and visitors may require parking passes on regular class days.

“The TSSAA Tournaments attract thousands of prospective students, their families, alumni, and other University supporters,” said Ron Malone, vice president of Events and Transportation at MTSU. “We’re thankful for everyone’s cooperation as we welcome guests to the Blue Raider campus.”
