Spring Fling Re-Cap: Smyrna in Softball Title Game

It's been 33-years since Smyrna has played for a state softball championship. Behind strong pitching from junior MaKenzie Prince, the Lady Bulldogs take down Dickson County 1-nothing...

Bryan Barrett with the call on WGNS State Farm Prep Sports as Prince sat down the Lady Cougars in order in the seventh to win the game. Smyrna will play the winner of the Clarksville/Dickson County game for the championship. Their opponent would have to win two games to take the championship. In the second year of fast pitch softball as a T-Double-S-Double-A sport, Smyrna finished runner up. That was back in 1980.

In other Thursday action, the Riverdale softball season ends in the state's final six as they lost a 9-2 decision to Clarksville. Riverdale baseball lost 5-4 to Collierville to finish the year 29-and-13. It's the second year in a row they finished in the state's final four.
