MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A vehicle fire briefly disrupted traffic on Interstate 24 eastbound Monday afternoon near the 83-mile marker, situated between the S. Church Street and Joe B. Jackson Parkway interchanges.

Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department’s Engine 9, Ladder 1, and Battalion Chief 2 quickly responded to the scene. Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control without any reported injuries, according to MFRD officials.

While the fire temporarily impacted traffic flow in the area, normal conditions have since been restored. Authorities have not yet released information regarding the cause of the fire.

Motorists were urged to use caution while crews cleared the scene, but thanks to the rapid response, delays were kept to a minimum.
