Murfreesboro, Tenn. (May 8, 2025):  National Nurses Week is coming to a close, but the appreciation for healthcare workers in the Rutherford County area is far from over. Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital will continue to recognize the dedication and compassion of nurses who serve the community every day.

Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford's President and CEO Gordon Ferguson emphasisezes that the contributions of nurses go beyond a single week of acknowledgment.

“We encourage the community to continue showing support, whether through small gestures of thanks or broader initiatives that uplift these healthcare heroes.”

Ferguson will be on WGNS' "Action Line" radio broadcast next Tuesday (May 13, 2025) from 8:15 to 9:00AM.

In fact, almost a decade ago the local radio station started the HEART FOR HEALING tribute, the first "listener nominated" recipient on July 1, 2015, was a nurse on the oncology floor at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
