MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) — Quality Furniture Company, a long-standing staple of Murfreesboro’s retail landscape, has announced that it is closing its doors after 56 years in business. The family-owned store began its final going-out-of-business sale on May 8, signaling the end of an era for the community.

Founded in 1969 by John Morris, the business quickly became known for its high-quality home furnishings and personalized customer service. For over five decades, the store served generations of local families, earning a trusted reputation across Rutherford County.

In more recent years, the business was operated by Morris’s stepson, Butch Jones, and his wife, Carolyne, who carried on the tradition of offering well-crafted furniture and exceptional customer care. The 20,000-square-foot showroom on Old Fort Parkway has remained a recognizable fixture in the community, catering to both longtime customers and new homeowners in the rapidly growing Murfreesboro area.

The closure comes as part of a planned retirement and transition. The clearance sale offers deep discounts on a wide selection of furnishings until the remaining inventory is sold.

Once the sale concludes, the property located at 745 Old Fort Parkway will be available for lease. The building is expected to draw interest due to its size and high-traffic location along one of Murfreesboro’s busiest commercial corridors.
