Jeffie Moorehead, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on May 8, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on April 15, 1939, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, Jeffie lived a life marked by service, dedication, and deep love for his family.

He was born in a sharecropper's shack in Lincoln County, Tennessee. Before he could walk, his sister would put him on a feed sack and pull him along the rows of cotton as the rest of the family pulled what little cotton was left over.  His early life was marked by hard work and humility. He volunteered for the US Army and served in the missile fields of Germany during the late 1950s.

Jeffie married Jane Warner of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, and together they raised two children. His work ethic was extraordinary. After the Army, he worked for his brother Wilburn as a butcher at the grocery store in Chapel Hill. He was also a skilled brick mason. He retired after 25 years as a supervisor at Cosmolab in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Even after retirement, he remained self-employed with a small cleaning and mowing business that he maintained until his final day.

Jeffie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jane Warner Moorehead, Chapel Hill, TN; son, Jeff (Jennifer) Moorehead, Caney Spring Comm.; daughter, Beth Moorehead (Scott) Delk, Chapel Hill, TN; grandchildren, Sara (Joe) Borden, Bon Aqua, TN; Nate (Zoe) Moorehead, Murfreesboro, TN; Matthew (Michelle) Delk, Rockvale, TN; one great-grand child soon to arrive, Shepherd Givens Delk; and several nieces and nephews.

As we reflect on Jeffie’s life, we remember a man who was giving, worked hard, loved deeply, and raised his family to do the same. His presence will be missed, but his legacy lives on in his family and the values he passed down.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill. A celebration of Jeffie’s life will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Chatman and Jacob Harber officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
