$2.5M Bond Set for Mansfield, TN Man Charged in Homicide of Murfreesboro Woman

HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. – Authorities have arrested a Henry County man in connection to the death of a Murfreesboro woman found deceased in a remote area of Springville, Tennessee. The arrest follows a multi-agency investigation involving the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), the 24th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, and the Murfreesboro Police Department. On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, 54-year-old Mark Joseph Odom of 2810 Vale Road in Mansfield, Tennessee, was charged with criminal homicide in the death of 31-year-old Kristiana Shook-Livingston. Odom is currently being held at the Henry County Jail on a $2.5 million bond.

Shook-Livingston, who was last known to be homeless and living in Murfreesboro, was discovered on May 10 by a hunter at the Gin Creek Wildlife Management Area off Copper Springs Road in Springville—about 100 miles west of Nashville. The preliminary cause of death has been ruled a homicide by the Medical Examiner’s Office. According to officials, the investigation moved swiftly after the discovery of the body, with investigators quickly identifying Odom as a suspect. Authorities have not yet released details on the motive or circumstances leading to the homicide but confirmed that leads from the public played a crucial role in solving the case.

Henry County Sheriff Josh Frey stated, “We are actively pursuing leads and ask the public for help in this case.” The Sheriff's Office also issued a public statement thanking the community for its assistance in providing information that contributed to the arrest.
