UPDATE: MURFREESBORO, TN — New details have surfaced in the ongoing investigation into the death of a Murfreesboro woman whose body was found in Henry County, Tennessee. Authorities have identified the victim as 31-year-old Kristiana Shook-Livingston, who was recently listed as homeless in Murfreesboro before her disappearance.
On Thursday, Murfreesboro Police released information further linking the suspect to the victim. A license plate reader (LPR) on a patrol vehicle recorded the suspect’s car parked outside The Journey Home, a local non-profit that provides meals and support to individuals experiencing homelessness. That LPR data was shared with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), the lead agency in the case. The information raises additional questions for investigators, as it places the suspect—who lives more than 2.5 hours away—in Murfreesboro shortly before the victim’s body was found.
54-year-old Mark Joseph Odom, of Mansfield, Tennessee, is accused of killing Shook-Livingston. Her body was discovered by a hunter at Gin Creek Wildlife Management Area on Copper Springs Road in Henry County. Odom was arrested on Tuesday and charged with criminal homicide. He is currently being held at the Henry County Corrections Facility in Paris, Tennessee, on a $2.5 million bond.
This is not Odom’s first run-in with law enforcement. His criminal record spans decades, dating back to the late 1990s, and includes charges such as harassment, criminal trespassing, misuse of 911, and probation violations. His most recent conviction occurred in June for a harassment charge to which he pleaded guilty. Odom has also been involved in multiple civil lawsuits brought by various businesses in the Henry County courts.
The investigation into Shook-Livingston’s death is ongoing and involves not only the TBI, but also the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and Murfreesboro Police. Further details have not been released.
