Rutherford County, TN - The 43rd International Folkfest fills the area with music and dance June 7-14, 2025. This event was born and raised here by the Cripple Creek Cloggers and its founder Steve Cates. The 2025 Folkfest features dance troupes from Poland, Puerto Rico, Estonia, and the USA!
Mikolaj Rychlik, Director of the Consular Division and Polonian Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington, D. C., will visit Murfreesboro during the 2025 International Folkfest. It is a tradition to invite consular representatives to international folkloric festivals around the world. They bring greetings, especially to the musicians and dancers from their country, but also to the other participating countries' troupes and all those attending the festival.
The Polish troupe, Ziemia Zywiecka, and their guides from International Folkfest's planning committee, Bob Niedzielski and Van Hadaway, will enjoy hosting the consular rep. He will travel with them to some of their planned events. He will be introduced at all Folkfest performances during the time he is here.
International Folkfest is also pleased to have two local evening performances where people in Murfreesboro may see all groups. Visiting troupes from Poland, Estonia and Puerto Rico will join host troupe, Cripple Creek Cloggers and The Slim Chance Band, for all these shows. Hop Springs will host on Wednesday night, June 11, and Cedar Glade Brews will host on Friday night, June 12.
Simply Smyrna will host all troupes for their final show on Sat. night, June 13, in the Depot area in downtown Smyrna. See a listing of all public performances, including those during weekdays, at www.mboro-international- folkfest.org.
International Folkfest is always seeking community members who are interested in planning upcoming events. To inquire, get in touch with Matt Davis at (615) 962-4271 or Steve Cates at (615) 896-3559.
