Leadership Rutherford was established in 1985 and it operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. For 40-years the program has been fostering leadership development and community engagement in Rutherford County, Tennessee. It offers graduates the opportunity to build lasting relationships with local business leaders, expanding their professional network within a growing alumni base of over 1,340 professionals.

Commitment and Selection Process - Accepted participants must attend orientation events, retreats, monthly program days, and a graduation ceremony. Each class member will also complete individual and community impact projects. Following graduation, three members will serve a three-year term on the Leadership Rutherford Council, shaping the experience for future classes.

Applicants undergo a competitive selection process led by the program’s Selection Committee. Candidates are chosen based on their merits, ensuring the class represents the diversity of Rutherford County. Each class consists of approximately 40 members.

Tuition Fee - The tuition for the 2025-26 Leadership Rutherford program is $1,500 per person. This fee covers meals, transportation, and program materials, as well as participation in various events like socials, receptions, and the retreat.

Application Deadline Approaching - Aspiring leaders looking to enhance their business knowledge, strengthen ties with community leaders, and contribute to Rutherford County’s future must submit their applications by the 4:30PM deadline on May 29, 2025.
