Murfreesboro, TN – While driving down Medical Center Parkway have you noticed the large field of utility poles that are sprouting up like Tennessee wildflowers at the Williamson Family Farm.  Fear not—you're witnessing the setup for one of the most electrifying competitions in the region. Friday and Saturday, May 30-31, Middle Tennessee Electric will host the 2025 Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo.

The Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo is a high-flying showdown where journeymen and apprentice line workers put their skills to the test. From dizzying pole climbs to daring rescue operations, competitors will battle it out in events designed to showcase their training, precision, and safety expertise—all while keeping their boots firmly planted (at least when they're not 40 feet in the air).

Think of it as a rodeo, but instead of bucking broncos, the action takes place on towering utility poles, and instead of cowboy hats, you'll see plenty of hard hats. The best part? It’s completely free for the public, making it the perfect way to spend a weekend while learning about the craft that keeps your lights on.

The rodeo will run Friday, May 30, from 1 PM to 4 PM, and Saturday, May 31, from 7 AM to 1 PM, at Williamson Family Farm (3250 Wilkinson Pk.). In addition to the adrenaline-pumping competitions, the event will feature food trucks, a kids' zone, and even a monster truck for an extra dose of family fun.

Come for the spectacle, stay for the skill, and leave with a newfound appreciation for the folks who make sure flipping a light switch actually does something.

And again, an electrifying THANK YOU to our neighbors at Middle Tennessee Electric for sponsoring The Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo.
