MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) – Eagleville High School capped a dominant spring with state championships in both baseball and softball, securing Class 1A titles on back-to-back days at Spring Fling.

The baseball team claimed its fourth consecutive state title with a dramatic 6-5 walk-off win over Coalfield on Saturday (May 24th) at Middle Tennessee Christian School. Tied 5-5 in the bottom of the seventh, Koltt Bassham’s single and a throwing error allowed Brady Burns to score the winning run. The Eagles, who finished the season 33-6, have won every postseason game dating back to 2022. Just Friday, they overcame a 12-6 deficit in the bracket final with a seven-run seventh inning.

The day before, the softball team captured its second state title in four years, beating Hollow Rock-Bruceton 8-1 at MTSU. Senior pitcher Addisyn Linton closed the game with 2⅓ hitless innings and added two RBIs. Fellow senior Brinli Bain went 3-for-4 with two runs as the Lady Eagles completed a dominant postseason, only allowing three runs scored against them while putting up 116 runs.

The dual championships mark a historic milestone for Eagleville athletics and a fitting conclusion to the 2025 spring season. The last time both teams accomplished this sweep was in 2022, when the softball team captured the school's first-ever team title, followed by a baseball championship the next day.
