MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) – Oakland Middle School claimed both the Boys and Overall All Sports Trophies, while Siegel Middle School earned the Girls All Sports Trophy for the 2024–2025 school year. The awards, presented by WGNS Primetime Sports and Little Caesars Pizza, recognize the top athletic programs across Rutherford County middle schools.

Siegel Wins Girls Title

Siegel Middle topped the girls' standings with 17 total points. Their season included a strong showing in volleyball with a second-place regular season finish, a third-place result in girls' soccer, and a tournament championship win in softball. Those consistent performances helped Siegel edge out Rockvale and Oakland in the girls' division.

Oakland Claims Boys and Overall Trophies

Oakland Middle had a standout year in boys’ sports, earning 21 points to win the boys' title. The school swept football with first place in both the regular season and championship. Oakland’s boys' basketball team also finished first in the regular season and tournament. In baseball, they placed second in the regular season and won the tournament.

With a combined total of 37 points across boys’ and girls’ sports, Oakland also won the Overall All Sports Trophy.

About the All Sports Trophy

Now in its 18th year, the All Sports Trophy program tracks points across eight RCMSAA sports: football, volleyball, girls' and boys' basketball, girls' and boys' soccer, softball, and baseball. Points are awarded based on regular season and tournament finishes—four for first place, three for second, two for third, and one for fourth.

The program is sponsored by Little Caesars Pizza and WGNS Primetime Sports, with the goal of recognizing all-around athletic achievement in Rutherford County middle schools.
