Murfreesboro, TN - Who says summer fun is just for kids? This past Friday (6/6/2025) at AdamsPlace, local senior residents proved that age is just a number as they took to the soapy, slippery thrills of the Ride’N Slide event for the fourth year in a row!
AdamsPlace' 4th Annual Ride'N Slide
AdamPlace' Claire Little explained...
With the sun shining and spirits high, residents embraced their inner child, gliding down a long plastic runner, drenched in bubbles and pure joy. The Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue Department brought out the big hose to keep the slide slick, while MTSU athletes assisted residents onto giant inner tubes, ensuring safety while maximizing the fun.
Terri Deal's Enthusiasm Added To The Fun
AdamsPlace Executive Director Terri Deal turned up the excitement, serving as the energetic announcer, welcoming each rider with enthusiasm over the PA system. Smiles stretched ear to ear as residents zoomed down the slippery track, soap flying and laughter echoing across the event.
Former State Representative John Hood, who loves living at AdamsPlace, was all smiles as his tube churned-up the water...
Adding a high-energy flair, the Rockvale Middle School cheerleaders lined the slide, cheering on riders as they embraced their summer splash. These cheer champions had plenty to celebrate, fresh off their national and world titles at the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship earlier this year. They won both the national and world titles in the Junior High Non-Tumbling division. That victory solidified them as champions on both national and international levels, making them one of this area's standout teams!
Carnival Atmosphere With Food and Games
Beyond the Ride’N Slide action, attendees enjoyed a festival-like atmosphere, complete with tents offering games, prizes, and shaded relaxation for ice cream and treats.
Despite a few light sprinkles that refreshed the morning hours, a few heavier showers toward the final minutes had a different impact, but not before residents were able to capture many unforgettable memories.
Thank You Miss Terri
“I want to be sure and let Miss Terri know how much we appreciate events like Ride ‘N Slide,” one resident shared. “It makes senior years even more fun—just like being a kid again!”
As another Ride’N Slide event comes to a close, AdamsPlace remains committed to keeping summer playful, joyful, and full of adventure for Murfreesboro seniors!
