Skydiving Plane Crashes Near Tullahoma Airport, Injuring Seven

Update (5:24PM)  Tullahoma, TN - A twin-engine skydiving aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Tullahoma Regional Airport on Sunday afternoon (6/8/2025) at approximately 12:30PM (CDT). The plane clipped trees before slamming into the ground just a few feet from the Beechcraft Museum. Officials reported that seven individuals sustained injuries in the crash. Three of them were serious enough to be airlifted by LifeFlight to Nashville hospitals, while four were transported by ambulance to the local ER. Paramedics treated others at the scene for minor injuries.

During a press conference, Tullahoma City Administrator Jason Quick said, “Emergency responders were quick to get to the crash. Tullahoma Police were first with the Tennessee Highway Patrol arriving shortly afterwards. They quickly secured the area and assisted some of the injured until paramedics arrived.”

Four individuals with less serious injuries were taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt University’s Harton Hospital in Tullahoma. Emergency Medical Technicians also provided on-site assessment and care for those who remained at the scene.

Special thanks to other responders including the Coffee County Sheriffs Office, Coffee County Emergency Medical Services, and the Coffee County Ambulance Service. 

A spokesperson for the City of Tullahoma confirmed that no airport or ground facilities sustained damage, and no injuries were reported among individuals near the museum or airport.

The Sunday crash in Tullahoma is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board along with assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Tullahoma, TN - A twin-engine aircraft crashed Sunday (6/8/2025) afternoon on Old Shelbyville Road beside the Beechcraft Museum, which is adjacent to the Tullahoma Regional Airport. 

Preliminary information suggests the aircraft was a skydiving plane that clipped trees before crashing near the museum. There were approximately 16 to 20 people on board. Four individuals have been transported to area hospitals—two with critical injuries and two with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is assisting Tullahoma first responders at the scene, with Coffee County EMS leading emergency response efforts. Authorities urge the public to avoid the area to allow crews to operate safely.
