MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) — Middle Tennessee State University’s future engineers put their innovation and problem-solving skills in the spotlight during the 2025 Engineering Technology Mech-Tech Expo, held recently at the Miller Education Center on Bell Street.
Capping off the spring semester, the annual event showcased 35 in-depth student projects and 17 additional poster presentations, drawing a crowd of more than 200 students, faculty, industry professionals, and family members.

Students from both Engineering Technology and Mechatronics Engineering programs presented capstone projects developed over one or two semesters, ranging from medical tech solutions to automated vehicles. Among the judges evaluating their work were professionals from Ultium Cells, a growing battery manufacturing company in Spring Hill.
The Mech-Tech Expo serves as a celebratory sendoff for graduating seniors, with award-winning projects receiving special recognition for creativity, practicality, and presentation.

Excitement is already building for future expos, as students and faculty look forward to moving into the brand-new Applied Engineering Building, slated to open in fall 2025. The facility will be located on the east side of campus, adjacent to the MTSU School of Concrete and Construction Building.
