MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) — Summer in Rutherford County officially begins with music, community, and celebration as Friday Night Live returns to Murfreesboro’s historic downtown square on THIS FRIDAY, June 13. The free outdoor concert series opens with a crowd-favorite: Lisa Law and the Suspects, known for their energetic blend of R&B, Blues, Jazz, Gospel, Americana, and even a dash of Disco.
Hosted by Main Street Murfreesboro, the event takes place in front of the Rutherford County Courthouse from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The streets surrounding the square will be closed to traffic, creating a safe, walkable space for families and friends to enjoy an evening of live music under the summer sky.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and set up on the Church Street side of the square for the best views and sound. Admission is free, and free parking is available in both downtown parking garages, just a short walk away.
A wide selection of food trucks will be available on-site, and downtown restaurants will be open for guests looking to grab a bite to eat before or during the show. Organizers recommend arriving early to explore the local shops and enjoy a relaxed evening in the heart of the city.
Friday Night Live is part of Main Street Murfreesboro’s broader mission to “maintain, enhance, and promote downtown as the heart of our community.” The summer concert series not only brings families and neighbors together but also supports local businesses and highlights the unique charm of downtown Murfreesboro.
