NASHVILLE, TN - One of many “No Kings” protests that took place this past weekend unfolded in Nashville at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park Amphitheater. Reports indicate the event was peaceful, other than one arrest that was made at the gathering. That one arrest happened to involve a young man from Murfreesboro, TN. Metro Nashville Police confirmed, “Counter protester Elijah Millar, 19, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is charged with disorderly conduct after he brandished a handgun during Saturday's No Kings protest,” referring to the event at the park in downtown Nashville.
Metro officers were flagged down just before noon on June 14, 2025 at Jefferson Street and 7th Avenue North. They responded and took Millar into custody. According to witnesses, Millar was involved in heated arguments and spitting at people when he pulled out a gun that he kept pointed toward the ground, placing witnesses and others in the crowd in fear. Millar's bond was set at $1,500. He has since been released from jail after paying the $1,500 bond. The Metro Police Department said in a statement, “This was the only arrest related to the protest.”
Locally, Millar has an unrelated court case that is pending in Rutherford County for a "Theft of Property Charge" that was filed on January 21, 2025. Evidently, the theft added up to at least $1,000, but was under the value of $2,500. In that case he is scheduled to appear before Judge Ben Bennett on August 7 of this year. The suspect was arrested and charged with theft by Murfreesboro Police. According to court records, one of the witnesses in the theft case is a local business owner of a home remodeling store that is located on Broad Street in Murfreesboro, presumably the store where the alleged theft took place.
