Fire Korean BBQ to Close June 29; Jefferson’s to Relocate to the Square

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) — Less than a year after opening its doors, Fire Korean BBQ at 109 N Maple Street will serve its final meals on Sunday, June 29. The downtown Murfreesboro location won’t stay quiet for long, though—the space is set to become the new home of Jefferson’s, relocating from East Main Street.

Fire Korean BBQ opened on August 12, 2024, bringing an all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue concept to the Square. Now, its closure comes as part of a strategic move by the restaurant’s owners, who also operate Jefferson’s, to consolidate their efforts and invest in a long-term plan.

In a message to customers, the Fire Korean BBQ team thanked guests for their support and expressed excitement for the next chapter:

“We’re excited to share that this space will soon become the new home of Jefferson’s, relocating from our current East Main Street location. We believe this change sets us up for long-term success and hope you'll continue with us on this next chapter.”

Jefferson’s, known locally for wings, burgers, and oysters, has been a favorite on East Main Street for several years. The move to 109 N Maple puts the restaurant directly on the Square, giving it more visibility and foot traffic in one of Murfreesboro’s most vibrant areas.

There’s no word yet on when Jefferson’s will officially reopen in the new location, but the transition is expected to begin immediately following Fire’s final day of service.

Customers still have time to grab one last meal at Fire Korean BBQ before the grills go quiet—and Jefferson’s returns just a few blocks away with a familiar menu in a new setting.
