SMYRNA, Tenn. — Well, if you thought your day was productive, just wait until you hear about one shopper who really ran her errands — literally.

According to the Smyrna Police Department, the Hibbett Sports store near Target was blessed with a visit from a sneaker “enthusiast” who apparently misunderstood how shopping works. Instead of swapping hard-earned cash for a fresh new pair of Air Jordans, she allegedly dropped common sense and opted for a dash to the door — mint green hair and all.

This one-woman track team was caught on security camera frame-by-frame transforming from casual window shopper to Olympian Usain Bolt’s long-lost cousin in record time. The Air Jordans, which retail for $100 to $210, may not actually make you run faster — but evidently, they may make you want to.

Witnesses say she leaned coolly against the counter, probably pondering life’s big questions like, “Should I buy these shoes or just practice my getaway stride?” Decision made: she launched herself towards the door, white running shoes squeaking across the floor — not the Jordans, mind you, those were allegedly clutched in her hand, unpaid for but clearly cherished.

Her mint green hair, short cutoff denim shorts, and white crop top did little to hide her “blend in” skills, but hey, at least she was dressed for the weather — and the wind resistance.

Smyrna detectives would now like a friendly chat with this new local track star. If you can help identify the woman who allegedly redefined the phrase “grab and go,” please contact Detective Steve Martin at (615) 267-5432 or shoot him an email at steve.martin@townofsmyrna.org.

And remember folks: Air Jordans are designed to help you jump, not your bail.
