MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Veterans in Murfreesboro looking for a rewarding career opportunity should mark their calendars for a special hiring event this month. The VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) will host two Veteran-only hiring fairs, with one happening right here at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center on July 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Murfreesboro VA campus — located at the intersection of Memorial Boulevard and Compton Road — will open its doors to help local Veterans find meaningful work within the VA system. Most positions at the hiring fair are reserved exclusively for Veteran applicants, with a limited number available to the general public under federal hiring rules.

Job seekers are encouraged to arrive early, as the fairs are expected to draw a large number of applicants. Doors open at 10 AM sharp.

Positions available at the Murfreesboro hiring fair include:
• Food service workers
• Housekeeping aids
• Medical support assistants **
• Supply technicians
(The medical support assistant position is open to both the public and Veterans under federal hiring statutes.)

At the fair, applicants can learn more about each role, meet directly with hiring officials, and even receive an on-the-spot job offer. The entire process is designed to take about two hours from start to finish — so come prepared with all required documents.

The second hiring fair will be held in Nashville on July 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Nashville VA Medical Center for those closer to the city.

Veterans interested in these career opportunities should visit the TVHS website for full registration details and a list of documents needed to apply. Applicants who don’t bring the required items or who don’t meet the criteria may not be considered.
