Murfreesboro, TN - An unforgettable evening of music and movement is headed to the heart of Murfreesboro later this month, as CHORD hosts the Cripple Creek Cloggers and Slim Chance Band at Greenhouse Ministries on from 6:00 to 8:00PM Monday night, July 28, 2025.

The event—free and open to the public—celebrates Appalachian heritage through the dynamic pairing of dance and old-time music. CHORD, a community-focused arts organization dedicated to fostering relationships through creative expression, says the evening promises “tradition, community, and music in motion.”

Set against the welcoming backdrop of Greenhouse Ministries, located at 307 S. Academy Street in downtown Murfreesboro, the showcase will highlight the energetic choreography of the internationally recognized Cripple Creek Cloggers and the toe-tapping string melodies of Slim Chance Band, known across Middle Tennessee for keeping the spirit of Americana alive.

“This is a unique chance to experience the joy and harmony that Appalachian arts bring to a modern audience,” said CHORD representative Gloria Christy. “We encourage folks to come as they are—whether you’re bringing a friend, an instrument, or just an open heart.”

The performance is part of CHORD’s ongoing mission to promote collaboration between local musicians and cultural organizations, creating space for shared stories, creative exchange, and meaningful connection across generations.
