Christiana, TN - An 18-wheeler caught fire around 2:45PM Sunday (7/20/2025) afternoon at Love's Truck Stop off Epps Mill Road near I-24. The driver was backing into a parking space when the engine stopped and flames erupted from the truck’s hood and dashboard. He escaped without injury.

A tech at Love's, who also serves as a volunteer firefighter, had two professional fire extinguishers and his fire gear. He attempted to keep the flames from spreading while additional fire-fighters headed to Love's Truck Stop. Unfortunately, the tractor was a total loss in the short 5-minutes it took for Christiana Volunteer Fire Department to arrive. Additional first-responders from Rutherford County EMS, THP, and Sheriff's deputies rolled onto-the-scene almost together. The truck was fully engulfed and declared a total loss. Again--no one was injured.
