COFFEE COUNTY, TN - In a press release dated July 17, 2025, the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival officially announced its return for 2026, bringing both familiar traditions and exciting new changes. The festival, which has faced challenges from severe weather in recent years—including a full cancellation in 2021 due to Hurricane Ida—is making significant adjustments to improve safety, accessibility, and overall experience, according to partner station WMSR.
One major update is the decision to discontinue use of campsites located in flood-prone areas, reducing overall capacity but creating more room for movement and dancing. Camping entry and Outeroo programming will begin on Wednesday, giving attendees an extra day to settle in and enjoy the pre-festival atmosphere. A new tradition starts Thursday night with a welcome party on the iconic What Stage, followed by full Centeroo programming from Friday to Sunday.
The Infinity Stage will be replaced by the popular "Where in the Woods" UFO Stage, now landing in Centeroo to host late-night DJs and dance events. Meanwhile, the original Where in the Woods space in Outeroo will continue serving as a chill zone for rest and relaxation.
Bonnaroo’s commitment to long-term improvements is evident in its ongoing investment in land upgrades. After consulting with experts, organizers have developed a multi-year, multi-million-dollar plan to address drainage issues, reseed land, improve campground access roads, and reinforce water runoff systems. These efforts will continue during the 2025–2026 off-season, ensuring the grounds are better equipped for extreme weather and large crowds.
Festival-goers can still expect the same high-caliber performances and immersive experiences Bonnaroo is known for, with enhancements that prioritize safety and sustainability.
