Murfreesboro, TN - Time is running out to honor the pillars of Murfreesboro’s progress. The Legacy Recognition Program is your chance to spotlight retired City employees who have gone above and beyond for our community—and the deadline to submit nominations is fast approaching: August 1, 2025.
Who Would You Nominate
Do you know a retired City employee who deserves recognition as a Legacy for their contributions to our community? Nominate individuals who’ve given decades of their lives to make this city a better place. From improving public safety to enriching the lives of our residents, these retired heroes left their mark—and now, it’s time to honor them.
Nominee Eligibility Requirements
- Fully retired for at least 2 years (exceptions allowed for extenuating circumstances)
- Minimum 20 years of continuous or 30 years of combined service with the City
- Departed City employment in good standing
- May be living or deceased
Don't wait until it's too late. Nominations are open now through August 1st, 2025, and anyone—citizens, employees, and retirees—can submit a nomination. In this inaugural year, up to six retired employees will be recognized this fall.Submit a nomination online or download the form by visiting www.murfreesborotn.gov/LegacyRecognition. Hard copies are also available at City Hall (111 West Vine Street) for in-person submission to the Human Resources Department.
