EAGLEVILLE, Tenn. (WGNS) — Eagleville School is now in the running for a major national prize as part of the T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights contest — a competition designed to support small-town high school football programs through funding and facility upgrades.
With over $4 million in total prizes available, the contest celebrates the spirit and tradition of high school football across the country. Prizes range from $5,000 weekly grants to a $1 million football field transformation, complete with a new weight room from Gronk Fitness and a trip to the SEC Championship Game for up to 16 school representatives.
By entering, Eagleville joins hundreds of schools from across the nation, all hoping to earn support for their football programs. According to contest rules, the competition is open to all high schools in U.S. towns with populations under 150,000.
Throughout the contest, 450 schools will be randomly selected to win $5,000 in weekly giveaways beginning this fall. From there, 25 finalists will be chosen based on their storytelling, school spirit, and community impact — each receiving $25,000 and a T-Mobile-hosted home game experience.
Public voting for the grand prize will run from September 25 through October 24, with the $1 million winner announced on October 30.
By participating, Eagleville aims to gain recognition, rally community pride, and enhance the student-athlete experience on and off the field.
