Rutherford County, TN - Families across Rutherford County are invited to take part in National Night Out this evening, with events scheduled in both Murfreesboro and Smyrna aiming to strengthen ties between residents and law enforcement.

MURFREESBORO

In Murfreesboro, the community celebration will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Oaklands Park, located next to Oaklands Mansion at 427 Roberts Street.

In Murfreesboro, NNO is back after a four-year absence. The one at Oaklands Park includes the popular Touch-A-Truck event, games, and other activities designed to strengthen the bond between police officers and the community..

SMYRNA

Smyrna’s gathering kicks off at 6:00 PM and runs until 8:00 PM at the Smyrna Police Department, 400 Enon Springs Road East.

National Night Out is a long-standing nationwide campaign designed to promote police-community partnerships and foster neighborhood camaraderie. The goal is simple yet powerful: bring residents together in a relaxed, friendly setting to raise awareness about crime prevention and build relationships that contribute to safer communities.

Local law enforcement officers will be on hand to meet with attendees, answer questions, and offer safety tips. Organizers say it’s a chance for neighbors to connect not just with police, but with one another—turning a night of fun into the foundation of stronger neighborhoods.

Both events are free and open to all ages, with activities tailored for the entire family.

Whether you’re new to the area or a lifelong resident, tonight's festivities are a chance to experience the spirit of unity that keeps Rutherford County thriving.
