Murfreesboro, TN - If your weekend plans are still up in the air, Oaklands Mansion and Murfreesboro Little Theatre have something special lined up for Saturday evening that blends local flavor, community spirit, and a touch of Shakespearean magic.
The two organizations are teaming up once again for their annual joint membership meeting and dinner, and you don’t have to be a member to join the festivities. The event kicks off at 5:00 PM inside Maney Hall at Oaklands Mansion, located at 901 N. Maney Avenue in Murfreesboro. Guests will be treated to a locally inspired dinner catered by The Gentleman Caterer, featuring dishes like butter-poached salmon, lemon caper chicken, and chilled banana pudding.
Shakespeare
After dinner and brief updates from both organizations, the evening shifts outdoors for a free performance of Shakespeare’s The Tempest under the stars. “It’s one of our favorite nights of the year,” says Oaklands Executive Director James Manning. “We get to celebrate the arts, enjoy incredible food, and share the beauty of Oaklands Mansion with the community—all in one evening.”
