Murfreesboro Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying or locating a man wanted as a “person of interest” in a stolen vehicle investigation.

According to the MPD, the man — whose photo was released on social media — is connected to a case involving a stolen 2013 Hyundai Elantra. The sedan was reportedly taken from the Thornton’s gas station on Medical Center Parkway in Murfreesboro. The theft was reported on July 28.

In the surveillance image, the man is wearing a dark colored T-shirt featuring a yellow or tan teddy bear on the front. The bear resembles the mascot used by Ralph Lauren and is shown wearing light-colored overalls while bending down to paint the word “Polo.”

A “person of interest” is someone police want to question in connection with a criminal investigation. Depending on the evidence gathered, the individual could either become a suspect or be cleared of any involvement.

Anyone who recognizes the man or knows his whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Whitehead at 629-201-5650.
