Woodbury, TN - If you've ever been told you have an eye for art—or simply love the idea of painting—here’s your chance to learn from one of the region’s most respected artists. Jack Loeb, a McMinnville-based painter with more than 37 years of teaching experience, will lead a water media workshop titled Expressive Landscapes at the Arts Center of Cannon County in Woodbury on Saturday morning, August 16, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Loeb’s approach to painting is both creative and deeply personal. Influenced by impressionism and abstraction, he brings a painterly style to his work that reflects the beauty of Tennessee’s landscapes. His process is driven by a love of color, form, and the emotional resonance of art—something he’s eager to share with others.
Participants in the workshop will enjoy a live demonstration and are encouraged to bring their own references or even unfinished paintings for critique. Whether you’re a seasoned painter or just beginning your artistic journey, Loeb’s guidance promises to be both inspiring and helpful.
Some materials will be provided, though attendees are encouraged to bring heavy watercolor paper (140 lb), available at local retailers.
With decades of experience teaching art around the world—including 22 years with the Department of Defense Schools in Germany—Loeb brings a global perspective and a warm, encouraging style to his classes. His studio in McMinnville is a hub of daily creativity, and now he’s expanding to cover Middle Tennessee.
To reserve your spot, call the Arts Center of Cannon County at 615-563-ARTS (2787). Come ready to explore, express, and enjoy the journey.
