Rutherford County Heat Relief Effort Running Low on Supplies for the Elderly

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN – While the triple-digit heat index has eased slightly, many residents are still enduring August’s sweltering 90+ degree temperatures without so much as a fan to keep cool. For some senior citizens in our community, these conditions remain dangerous.

Rev. Dwight Ogleton, founder of the Cool-Aid Program, has been providing air-conditioned relief for more than 20 years... He urges residents to check on loved ones—especially the elderly—during the hot days ahead.

This summer, the program’s supply of air conditioners has already run out, and Ogleton says more fans and AC units are urgently needed...
