Metal thefts continue in Rutherford County...
Three men who are now suspects in a theft of metal case allegedly told police they had permission by a third shift supervisor to remove scrap metal from a company located on Samsonite Boulevard. Seeing as how that story is easy enough to verify, police simply called the owner of the Murfreesboro company. The owner told police, “There was no third shift for his company.” The owner of Sledgecraft also told police that he did not give anyone permission to remove anything from his property. That being said, the charges look to be sticking and will follow the suspects to court.
Arrested were 42-year old Christopher Lynn DeYoung, 25-year old Michael Eugene Pressley, and 34-year old Antone Fontez Hastings. Each of the three men were charged with theft over $1,000. They will appear in court on July 15th. The sheet metal the men were accused of taking was valued at over $5,000.
